Step 1: Advanced De-Icing Solutions

At Clear Landscaping, safety is our top priority. While traditional rock salt is widely used, we have found that using common rock salt treated with other compunds, like Liquid Calcium Chloride, leads to an effective de-icing at below freezing temperatures.

Step 2: The Power of Liquid Calcium Chloride

Liquid Calcium Chloride (CaCl₂) is a highly effective de-icing agent composed of calcium and chlorine. This ionic halide remains solid at room temperature and is widely used for ice control.

When temperatures approach 26 F°, rock salt is not as effective. Our trucks are equipped with Liquid Calcium Chloride sprayers which effectively de-ice surfaces at temperatures down to -20 F°.
